Hot Lunch and Milk Orders Now Online to Order Lunch and Milk Orders Now Online to Order<p><strong>​​Fred C. Cook P.S. is going paperless for all Hot Lunch and Milk Orders.</strong>  The order forms are now online and are available through SchoolCash Online.  You will need to set up an account for your child(ren) in order to place an order.  It is easy to do and you only have to create an account once.  Follow the SchoolCash Online link from our school website.  You will need your child's student number to set up an account.  A letter with this information was sent home to all families at the end of September.  If you cannot locate your child's student number (ask your older children - they should know what it is), then you may contact the Office and it will be provided to you.</p><p>For famliies that do not have access to a computer to place their child(ren)'s order online, you can come to the Office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to use a computer at school.  A laptop will be available for you to use in the Office.</p>

My name is Jarrod McKinnis and I will be undertaking an international teacher exchange at your school in 2017. I come from a town called Geelong in Australia which is around 16,258km away – almost on the other side of the world! I am truly thrilled about this experience and am so grateful for the opportunity. I look forward to meeting you all and learning about Canadian life. Each school will receive a report of the school results. Parent and staff versions of the secondary School Climate Survey were offered for the first time last year. Information for parents/guardians of Junior Kindergarten students for parents/guardians of Junior Kindergarten students<p> </p><p>Do you have a little one starting school for the first time this fall? We know that is it an exciting time for both students and parents. Here is some information about Kindergarten in the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) and what you can expect and how to plan for the first day of school:</p><div><ul><li>Senior Kindergarten students begin school on Tuesday, September 6, 2016.<br></li><li>Junior Kindergarten students begin school on Thursday, September 8, 2016.<br></li><li>Note that <a href="">Ernest Cumberland ES</a> is on a modified calendar. The first day of school for Ernest Cumberland JK students is Wed. Aug. 24.<br></li><li>On the first day, proceed to the Kindergarten yard or entrance to meet your educators and find out what class your child will be in.<br></li><li>Please <a href="">pack the following items in your child’s backpack</a> to be left at school:<br></li><ul><li>Indoor running shoes (Velcro or elastic laces)</li><li>A large Ziploc bag with extra clothes (one pair of pants, one shirt, two pairs of underwear, two pairs of socks)</li><li>​Please ensure everything is labelled</li></ul><li>Pack a lunch and snacks in reusable, labelled containers, including a bottle for water. For healthy lunch ideas, check out <a href="">EatRight Ontario</a>.<br></li></ul></div><p>If your child will ride the school bus, the <a href="">Bus Tag</a> program provides each Kindergarten student with a coloured tag that identifies the child’s name, route number, bus colour and stop location. All students with a bus tag must be met at their stop by a parent/guardian. To practice riding the bus and learn about bus safety, attend a <a href="">First Rider</a> session provided by the <a href="">Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium</a>. ​</p><p>If your child is turning four years old before Dec. 31, 2016 and you have not yet registered them for Kindergarten, you can do so by calling 705-734-6363 x11750 or emailing <a href=""></a> to schedule an appointment to register in person at the SCDSB’s Education Centre (1170 Hwy. 26 in Midhurst) until August 26 while school offices are closed. ‘Bus Tag’ program helps students get to and from school safely‘Bus Tag’ program helps students get to and from school safely<p>​</p><p>The Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium (SCSTC) launched the Bus Tag<strong> </strong>program this September.<strong> </strong>The Bus Tag program supports safety for JK/SK and other school-identified students by<strong> </strong>providing a process to match students to their assigned afternoon school bus and to also<strong> </strong>identify they must be met by a parent or guardian at their afternoon bus stop.</p><p>The program provides:</p><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>a colour coded bus tag with the assigned p.m. route number to be attached to the student's backpack</li><li>a colour-coded route card with route number in the windows of the school bus that the Bus Tag is matched to</li></ul><p>The SCSTC and Bus Operators have policies and procedures that are used on all school vehicles to ensure students in JK/SK and other school identified students are met at their afternoon bus stop.  It's the parent/guardian's responsibility to meet Junior Kindergarten, Senior Kindergarten and other identified students at the bus stop .The Bus Tag program has been established to assist both the schools and school bus drivers to load these students on the correct afternoon bus and identify they are to be met at their bus stop by a parent/guardian.
